Creating a New Function

Prerequisite: the functions view is active.

  1. Select the desired module or "Unassigned".

  2. Choose New > New Function. - Outcome: the "Add new Function" dialog will open.

  4. Optionally, enter a Description.
    To create more functions, click on Save & New; then you can directly enter a new name for a new
    function. With OK you save your function and finish the process. With Cancel the process will
    be canceled.

Outcome: a new function was added to the project.

Creating Malfunctions

  1. Right-click on a function.

  2. Choose New > New malfunction. - Outcome: the "Add new malfunction" dialog will open.

  2. Enter a Name for the new malfunction. Note that this can be achieved indirectly by clicking Negate function name. So doing will result in SOX adding the prefix “NOT” to the current function, e.g., “NOT Measure revolution of wheel 1”.
