Requirements Types

A requirement type is needed to define the number and kind of the characteristics of a requirement. A requirement type consists of a collection of attributes and the table header will be designed by these types.

  1. Right-click in the "Type Definition" view (you can open the Type Definition view via Window → Show View → other and use the search function to find the Type Definition view).

  2. Choose New > New Requirement Type. - Outcome: to open the dialog "New requirement type" will open.

  3. Enter a name for the requirement type.

  4. Optionally, enter a description.

  5. Set the safety relevance for the requirement type.

  6. Click on Finish.

Outcome: a A requirement type was will be created and added to the view "Type Definition".

Existing attributes can be used for the requirement type.

  1. Click on Insert. - Outcome: the dialog to open the "Attribute selection" will opencatalog.

  2. Select the desired attribute.

  3. Click on OK.

Outcome: The selected attribute was is added to the requirement type.

Click on New.

[2] String, Boolean, Integer, Real, Date, Enumeration (can be customized), XHTML, SOX.Status

Info

Name and Status attributes must be applied specifically if you want to import an Excel file. A
name attribute has to be named with ReqIF.Name. A status attribute has to be provided with
the SOX.Status type.
