System Designer Module

The SOX System Designer module represents a comprehensive solution for modelling your systems according to the OMG SYSML 1.4 and UML 2.5 standards.

Defining your system using a variety of diagram types and create links based on specific requirements, which can then be passed to the SOX Requirements module. SOX SD is available as a standalone module, or integrated into the SOX Workbench. Additional benefit comes with the Concept Designer extension, which enables you to model industry-specific (functional/technical) safety concepts according to various safety standards, such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508.

Papyrus

In implementing the SOX System Designer module, the powerful Open Source Model-Based Engineering Tool Papyrus was fully integrated into SOX, giving you the entire range of features offered by Papyrus. More information is available here.

SOX Stereotypes

With SOX you can use and create SysML 1.4/1.6 diagrams, as well as basic UML diagrams. Further, SOX proffers two additional diagram types, sc. the SOX function diagram and the SOX requirements diagram, which may be used conveniently to generate SOX-specific stereotypes. These stereotypes represent “modified” UML objects such as requirements, functions and malfunctions, and system elements, which are available for reuse in other SOX modules, too.

Import

Your existing system designs, based on UML/SysML 1.4/1.6 (e.g., Enterprise Architect XMI) are readily imported using SOX SD Importer, transferring the SOX stereotypes to the relevant UML objects, which means that all your legacy architecture will be available for use in SOX.
