Two options exist in this context: deleting the project file vs. removing a project from your current workspace. These are brought up after right-clicking your project:
Delete (in Workspace) has the effect of hiding the project until you switch to a different workspace (into which the project may be imported), whilst Delete, as suggested before, irrevocably deletes the file by removing it from the file system.
