Creating a FMEDA File

Prerequisites: a SOX Project was created and the SOX Workbench perspective is active.

  1. Right-click inside the Repository view on the FMEDA folder. - Outcome: the context menu will open.

  2. Choose New > New FMEDA File. - Outcome: the dialog "New FMEDA" will open.

  3. Click on Browse... to specify the file location.

  4. Enter a name for the FMEDA.

  5. Choose a BOM which forms the base of the FMEDA.

  6. Choose your default calculation scheme. (ISO 26262 or IEC 61508)

  7. If IEC 61508 is chosen, select a system type of your calculation scheme and set the HFT level.

  8. Enter the Operation Time (in hours) if the default calculation scheme is ISO 26262.

  9. Select your PMHF Metric.

  10. Apply further settings by using the three check boxes provided where applicable.

  11. Click on Finish.

Outcome: an FMEDA file was created and added to the repository.
