  • CCF: Common Cause Failures

  • Project: A project in SOX is a collection of related and potentially interlinked work documents, such as BOM and FMEDA documents.

  • Repository: A repository is a storage location for all project data. It uses a database to store and manage data.

  • SSL: Safety and Security Level

  • UI: The User Interface of the SOX application. As SOX is a graphical application, the term UI is equivalent to GUI (Graphical User Interface).

  • UML: Unified Modelling Language

  • View: In context of the SOX User Interface, a View in its general meaning refers to any modular part of the User Interface (a “window” within SOX) such as an editor window or a dialogue window.

  • Workspace: A workspace is a folder on the user’s computer that SOX uses to store user-specific preferences which includes the preferences chosen in the SOX preferences dialogue, the repository to use, and the user’s individual arrangements of windows/views in the tool.
