Creating a New BOM File

Prerequisites: a SOX project has been created and the Repository view is active.
Open the SOX project in the repository view.
Right-click on the BOM folder.
Choose New > New BOM file. - Outcome: the dialog "Create a new BOM file" will open.
Click on Browse... and choose your target folder.
Enter a name for the BOM file.
Choose the method for failure mode catalog handling.
Choose a failure rate catalog. FIT rates can be calculated according to different norms (i.e.
IEC62380, SN29500).Optionally, enter a Description that helps somebody else understand the content.
Optionally, FIT Analysis Types allows to add hard or soft errors for semiconductor devices.
Click Finish. - Outcome: a BOM file was created and added to the repository.
Note: The FIT Analysis Type in step 9. is used to cover soft errors on semiconductor devices. One or more Fit Analysis Types can be added to a SOX BOM document. Each FIT Analysis Type can be assigned to any Component or Module.
