Importing a Project
Projects can be imported in either of two formats:
As a
.zip
file, which will be added to your repository. As an import from your repository into your workspace, making the project available to you locally.
The method described in this tutorial is also relevant in the context of migration from SOX 3.x to 4.x. In order to reuse “legacy” projects created with SOX 3.x, it is necessary to first export them and then bring them into SOX v 4.x going through the steps explained below.
Please refer to new Exporting a ProjectUNDEFINED for a tutorial on project exports.
Importing an Archived Project
Right-click inside the Repository view. From the context menu, select the Import item.
On the dialog thus opened, click the > to expand the SOX directory. Next, select Import SOX Project.
Click Next. - Outcome: the Project Import dialog will open.
Click on the topmost Browse… button to identify your source file. - Outcome: a file (Windows) explorer dialog will open. Navigate to the location of a compressed SOX project, i.e., a suitable .zip file. Our scenario uses the project highlighted below. Click on Open to register your selection as your source.
Click on the second Browse… button to define your target folder. - Outcome: SOX will open the Select folder dialog.
The selection defaults to your “Projects” root directory. It is also possible to select any previously created subfolder, or to create one using the “plus” icon. Our example assumes the “Projects” selection.
Confirm your selection with OK. Back on the main dialog, verify your choices and click Next.
Outcome: SOX will display the Import Summary dialog.
It is possible at this point to complete the process by clicking on Finish. If you choose Next instead, as the above dialog announces SOX will offer to adjust the catalogs configuration for your project.
As indicated in the dialog, the “Create” option may be available depending on the catalogs used by your project. “Assign” is the default action for a system catalog and cannot be edited. Make the appropriate choices and click on Finish.
Outcome: SOX will open the Open diagrams/documents dialog:
After expanding, individual or collective choices as to the diagrams/documents you wish to open are possible:
Click Open selected to confirm. - Outcome: SOX will open and display your project as per your selections.
Importing a SOX Repository Project
