Catalog Management in web-based SOX
Catalog Management
Most catalogs are predefined and can be edited as required. For Effects, Hazards and Reactions, the user needs to create and populate his own catalogs. With the exception of Safety Goals catalogs, catalogs are available for cross-project use, i.e., they may be used in the context of any HARA. Safety Goals catalogs are project specific and derive from the relevant Requirements document.
To open the catalogs view, click the “open book” icon within the navigation panel on the left-hand side:
The catalog structure subdivides into System and Public catalogs. Only the latter are editable.
Add a new folder by right-clicking an existing one and selecting New Folder from the context menu:
Creating Catalogs
To create a new catalog, right-click the relevant folder (as a first step, it may be useful to create a containing folder named something to the effect of “HARA Catalogues”) and choose Create Catalog from the context menu. - Outcome: the Create New Catalog dialog will open:
As per convention, mandatory entries are indicated by asterisks:
Name: unique to the selected folder

Norm: optional selection from the drop-down:
When done, Save your entries.
Outcome: the new catalog will be listed in the location previously specified.
Clicking any catalog will open the same as a new tab in the web interface.
Editing Catalogs
To edit any catalog, Public or System, right-click it, bringing up the Edit Catalog option.
Outcome: the Edit Catalog dialog will open, displaying the existing information for this catalog.
Make the desired changes and click Save, noting that changes to the Norm used, for example, may affect your project configuration.
To add a row to your catalog, click the little ‘plus’ icon near the right edge of the interface:
Outcome: this activity will add a blank row below the currently selected row or indeed (if no row was previously selected) append it at the bottom of the table.
Delete a row by using the ‘trash’ icon that’s grouped together with the upload and add icons:
Creating and editing row content is available after double-clicking a cell. Depending on the cell type, this will open a drop-down menu or a text box:
