Creating Test Cases

Test cases can be stored in test groups or test suites. Test suites are used for super groups in test groups.
To execute test cases, you need to create test runs and link them with test cases.

The following explains how to create test cases in the hierarchy view or in the editor.

Prerequisite: a test group was created.

 

  1. Right-click on a test group.

  2. Choose New > Test Case. - Outcome: the "Add Test Case" dialog will open.

  3. Enter a name for the test case.

  4. Optionally, enter a text to describe the procedure for this test case.

  5. Optionally, enter a precondition.

  6. Optionally, enter a expected result.

  7. Optionally, enter a post condition.

  8. Optionally, click the ellipsis () to nominate an employee to be in charge of the test case.

  9. Click Finish. - Outcome: a test case with all entries was added to the selected test group/suite.
