Exporting Diagrams as Pictures

With SOX you can export diagrams as pictures in various formats: GIF, BMP, JPEG, JPG, SVG, PNG, PDF.
Recommendation: SVG, as the size for the elements of this vector image format can be scaled as desired without degradation.

Exporting a Single Diagram

  1. Open the diagram in the Editor.

  2. Right-click on an empty area inside the Editor.

  3. Select File > Save As Image File. - Outcome: The Save As Image File dialog opens.

  4. Select your output directory.

  5. Choose a File Name.

  6. Select your output Image Format. If you select JPG there is an option to scale the image quality.

  7. Where applicable, confirm that existing files are to be overwritten without warning.

  8. Where applicable, check the relevant box for HTML export so you can display the diagram in your browser.

  9. Click OK to export the diagram.

Outcome: The diagram was exported and saved to your target directory.


Exporting all Diagrams

  1. Right-click in the Model Explorer on SysML 1.4 model. - Outcome: The Export All Diagrams dialog will open.

  2. Select your output Image Format. If you select JPG there is an option to scale the image quality.

  3. Click OK to export all diagrams.

Outcome: The diagram was exported and saved to your target directory. Note that if on the dialog shown above you check the “Prefix with qualified name” box, the diagram name will be prefixed accordingly, e.g. SysML 1.4 model.
